About Me

Merna Amena, MSW, CCTSI

I’m a trauma-informed therapist, but more than anything—I’m someone who helps you make sense of yourself in a way that actually changes how you feel and function.
A lot of the people I work with aren’t “unaware.” You’ve already thought things through, reflected, maybe even done therapy before… but you still find yourself overthinking, second-guessing, or feeling internally overwhelmed.
That’s where our work comes in.
I help you get out of survival mode and into a place where you feel more grounded, clear, and steady within yourself—not just in session, but in your day-to-day life.

Real Work.
Real Change.

This space isn’t about quick fixes. It’s about creating room to slow down, reconnect with yourself, and explore your inner world with greater awareness and compassion.

How I Work

I don’t believe therapy should feel rigid or scripted.
Some sessions are structured and focused. Others are more intuitive and conversational—where we follow what’s coming up in real time and actually work through it as it’s happening.

My approach is a blend of:

So we’re not just talking—we’re also identifying patterns, shifting how you respond, and building tools that actually work for you.

I’ll meet you where you are, but I’ll also be honest with you. I’m not the type to just sit and nod if something needs to be challenged.

Who I Work Best With

I work best with people who are high-functioning on the outside but internally feel overwhelmed.

You might relate to this if you:

You don’t just want to talk—you want to shift.

A More Personal Note

I’m also a mother, and I understand how much life can shift—mentally, emotionally, and physically.

That perspective shapes how I show up in my work. I value honesty, emotional safety, and real, lasting growth.

This isn’t about quick fixes. It’s about creating meaningful shifts in how you think, feel, and respond—so you can move through life with more clarity, stability, and self-trust.
